Martha Worthley: More Love

Martha Worthley’s work for this exhibit spans nearly 40 years of creating home in Port Townsend. She arrived in town a few years after graduating from the San Francisco Art Institute, and she never shook that Bay Area love of personal and figurative work. From the beginning, Martha pulled artifacts and pieces of her own life as subject matter for painting and other creative endeavors. The feminist dictate “the personal is political,” informs her practice of expression.

Following her journey through marriage, motherhood, householder, collector of vintage ceramics and textiles, gardener, dog lover and now, grandmother, Martha’s work is filled with imagery and color leading the viewer to celebrate along with her.

Exhibition Dates: April 3 – August 23, 2026

Location: Ferguson Gallery, Museum of Art + History
