Visit

In all we do, we strive to spark our community’s curiosity and serve as a gateway to place-based learning and inspiring experiences through exhibitions, collections, and programs. We share these three core aspects of our mission at our sites in and around Port Townsend, where we welcome both residents and visitors from all over the world with different backgrounds, learning styles, ages, and interests.

Explore Arts + History at Our Sites

JCHS Museum of Art + History

Located in Port Townsend’s 1892 Historic City Hall and operated by JCHS since 1951, the Museum of Art + History is where we offer a variety of long-term and seasonal rotating exhibitions highlighting our region’s history and showcasing work by local artists and curators.

Research Center

In addition to housing the roughly 500,000 items in our museum collection, our Research Center is where we welcome researchers and members of the public to our research library, provide a variety of research services, and facilitate access to a wealth of archival documents, maps, letters, ledgers, and more.

Historic Houses

In partnership with Washington State Parks, we are honored to welcome the public seasonally to historic house museums where visitors are invited to take an immersive step into late 19th century and early 20th century life in Port Townsend and learn about some of the families who called this place home.
