CALL FOR NOMINATIONS
HISTORIC PRESERVATION AWARDS

The Jefferson County Historical Society seeks project nominations from all over Jefferson County for Historic Preservation Awards to be presented at our Founders' Day Celebration on April 13, 2008. These prestigious awards honor the efforts of individuals and organizations to preserve and restore original structures and traditions that form the unique historic fabric of our county.

The award categories include the Mary P. Johnson Award for historic structure projects that meet the Secretary of the Interior's standards of restoration, as well as Certificates of Appreciation for a variety of appropriate and sympathetic preservation and restoration projects not limited to physical structures.

Any project may be worthy of an award and anyone may nominate a project or projects for consideration. All nominations will be reviewed by the JCHS Awards Committee. Nominations of projects of particular merit will be studied extensively. Tell us about the preservation projects you see underway in our community that contribute to our rich historical environment.

Please submit a completed nomination form and other documentation by February 13, 2008. Include photographs, if possible. Call the JCHS office (385-1003) to suggest other meritorious projects for potential awards.
